Here are just some of the Enjoy Discovering Wine Testimonials:
WSET Level 1
I wanted to say how much I enjoyed the course. I thought you presented it excellently and held my attention from start to finish. Although I’ve always had a consumer based interest in wine there was still plenty to learn yesterday.
Although the wine industry has a history of complexity, intrigue and even secrecy, Erica cuts right through this with helpful, insightful and totally up to date teachings. Her pragmatic approach lifts the veil of mystery bringing the joys of the world of wine closer to all of us whether, novice or expert”.
Dominic Crolla, Commercial Director, Las Bodegas, former WSET student
I enjoyed the course very much. The style of teaching and practical exercises were excellent.
Elaine Findlay, WSET Level 1 student
I wanted to say how informative I found the Foundation Course and wanted to thank you for making it so enjoyable. I am pleased to say that I passed the examination and have in fact signed myself up for the 3 Consecutive Day course which starts next week. I very much hope that you will be teaching this course.
Natalie Rogers, WSET Foundation student
I just wanted to say thanks for the course on Monday. You were clearly very passionate about your subject (wine!) and that came across very well! I hope to meet you again on another course!
I just wanted to say thank you for today; it was a really well presented course. I am definitely going to pass on some newly gained knowledge to the other staff especially the food matching part. It’s rare to find someone that is very welcoming and so very good at making people feel relaxed but also at the same time get across information so effortlessly.’
Peter Kazmierski restaurant manager Gilbeys in Old Amersham
Since doing the Foundation with Erica, the love of wine which I’ve always had has developed into a complete passion. I’m talking, thinking and dreaming about wine and in danger of becoming a total wine bore as far as my friends are concerned. I certainly intend to go to Diploma level in terms of studying, if not to my Masters!
Thank you so much for the course yesterday. It showed that this was not simply a job to you but a passion in the way you delivered your knowledge to us in such a lively and entertaining manner, you made the learning so interesting and you had my attention for far longer than I thought was possible, so I know you are very good at what you do! Thank you again for a most enlightening day.

WSET Level 2
My staff thoroughly enjoyed the first session and feel they have already learnt a lot. They are very much looking forward to the next.
Cathy Nolan, Hotel Manager, Great Fosters
Thank you very much for a really great course, I learnt so much and have passed some of what I have learnt onto the team I work with. My husband has been enjoying the port and sends his thanks. I hope that my results will reflect how much I learnt, if the results are good then I will do the WSET 3.
Mel Portelli Level 2 Student.
Thank you so so so so so so so much for making the “world of wine” interesting to me. I definitely will do more with wine and I can feel the benefit of having done this course already as I finally know more than just:” oh yes that is a red wine, right?!”
Mel Blatt, Limewood Hotel.
Erica Dent delivers interesting and fun lectures on wine. On attending the WSET Foundation course tutored by Erica I became inspired. Six months later I was working the harvest at Belle Pente Vineyard & Winery in Oregon! In addition to providing great teaching Erica is prepared to go out of her way to provide help and guidance on the wine industry.
Andrew Rowsome, Sales Advisor, Laithwaites
Thanks again for today – I had a really good time and learned a lot and am looking forward to next week’s course already.
Carina Tilson, WSET Intermediate student
Because my schedule made it difficult to take other wine courses, I studied as a WSET distance learning student and took private study of the wine tasting with Erica. Erica was fantastic! She organized the class to fit my budget, ordered all the wine (sourcing the best wines at the best prices), travelled to my home, and even got my partner, who generally dislikes wine, interested in wine tasting. During the class Erica helped me develop the skills necessary to describe wine and was patient with me as I very slowly figured out how to evaluate the wine’s acidity level. Erica gave me the confidence to trust my own judgment when tasting wine. As a result, I spend more time drinking the wines I like and less time drinking wines simply because they are on promotion.
We had a wonderful Dad and Daughter time and thought that the course fulfilled our needs and expectations many times over. From my point of view I had my eyes opened to the wines of Germany and Italy which I am now trying with new found enthusiasm. Erica’s efforts during the course were formidable, I know how tiring it is speaking for long periods, but at least you could break it up with a little drink occasionally! We are already working hard for the Advanced course, but concentrating more on the practical, rather than the theoretical aspects at the moment.

WSET Level 3
Studying WSET level 3 with Erica was an absolute pleasure. She has the in-depth knowledge, the passion for the subject and, importantly, the ability to communicate – in spades. The classes are well-planned and while the days are about intensive learning there is a great atmosphere and it’s also a lot of fun. The amount of additional home-study required can’t be understated, but Erica makes this clear from the outset and keeps students on track throughout, not to mention always being available to answer questions. She wants you to succeed just as much as you do yourself.
So relieved to finally find out how I did, thank you for all your hard work, I would never have passed without you!

Came to the wine tasting at the Cork and Cheese yesterday – thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed yet informative tasters, both wine and nibbles(thank you Cork and Cheese). Look forward to the next wine tasting and hope you guys can re-introduce a champagne evening (even at £25 per head, we recruited 6 interested yesterday). Or a big reds evening, or a Spanish Special, or a Loire Luxury evening, or a Margaret River Crossing (or any other famous wine region in Oz). Just a few thoughts. Nice evening, nice people, thanks again.
Thank you so much for an excellent afternoon today. Your lively, enthusiastic approach and in depth knowledge ensured we all learnt such a lot while thoroughly enjoying ourselves. The matching of the food samples you had brought with the different sherries was fascinating and was something our wine group had not considered seriously before. The notes you gave us all will be so useful and we hope we will see you again before too long.

Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed last night, learnt loads and I thought that it went very well. Do let me know if you set up any other events, I’m sure some of my friends might be interested.

Over the past twelve months – we have been running a programme of WSET level 1 and 2 with Erica in order that our floor teams, bar staff and managers gain confidence and the knowledge to recommend and sell wines to our customers. The feedback from everyone who has attended the training has been so enthusiastic and people come back inspired, motivated and really importantly – confident to recommend wines and to pair wines with particular dishes on our menu. Once we started – and people came back from the courses – we had a queue of people who wanted to take part. Its been a huge success and we can see the difference not only in the enthusiasm and motivation of our staff – but also in our wine sales. Superb.

Having met Erica whilst studying for the Intermediate WSET qualification; we approached her to do some bespoke training for our bar and waiting staff on the basics of wine and other training specific to our list. We had opened our gastro-pub and cocktail bar a couple of months previously and we found the training Erica designed for the staff clear, comprehensive and delivered in a way that made the subject of wine, and our extensive list, more accessible and understood to all of them. All the support we needed was there and follow-up support since the training has proved really helpful in cementing their knowledge.
