In addition to the WSET courses that we run at Enjoy Discovering Wine, we also hold a fun Food and Wine Pairing workshop and lunch about four times a year. This four-hour workshop will dispel the myths about food and wine pairing with a fully tutored four-course wine tasting lunch.
Learn to taste wine like an expert
We begin with an introduction (or a re-cap for those already in the know), to show you how to taste wine like the professionals. You will learn the basic considerations of pairing wine with food. Then with your newfound, or brushed-up skills we try a variety of wine styles alongside a selection of dishes and decide which work and which do not.
Helen will lead you through a tutored tasting of the wines. She will then demonstrate the impact of sweet, sour and salty tastes through a food and wine pairing workshop. Lunch then begins with an unusual starter of strawberries with chocolate sauce, followed by steak and chips. The third course is fried fish, chips, mushy peas and tartare sauce with lemon, and is followed by dessert and stilton – all the while reinforcing the principles of food and wine pairing.*
Seven wines are tasted during the lunch*. These are as follows:
White Wines for Food and Wine Pairing

Great Southern Premium Chardonnay
Red wines for Food and Wine Pairing
Sweet wine for Food and Wine Pairing
Recioto della Valpolicella
* All wines and food are subject to availability. If any of the listed wines or food become unavailable Enjoy Discovering Wine will substitute a replacement of similar quality and flavour.
