WSET Level 1 is an entry level qualification providing a straightforward introduction to wines. It is ideal for individuals wanting to increase their enjoyment and learn about wine as well as boosting the confidence of new or inexperienced front line staff in the hospitality and retail sectors.
This hands-on course will guide you, using sight, smell and taste, through the world’s key categories and production methods. Designed to introduce wines in an interactive, structured and concise manner, the course also takes a detailed look into food and wine pairing by considering the characteristics of the key grapes and how they can be enhanced by pairing them with the correct style of dishes. There will be an opportunity to sample a variety of wines in different styles to enhance the learning.
I absolutely loved the introduction to wine course and it worked perfectly on Zoom. Helen was amazing and was able to deliver the information without it feeling like a “lesson” so I was able to learn my way.
A different wine school had suggested I could skip Level 1 and go straight for Level 2 but I am so happy I started from the beginning as it has given me a good foundation ready for the next levels. Highly recommended
