Do you need a refresher of the D5 module of your WSET Diploma? Would you like small class sizes and a minimum of two educators? If so, we are holding a three day workshop to support you through the D5 module from 14 September 2026, in Winchester, UK.
Led by acclaimed WSET Diploma educators Erica Dent and Jim Gore this classroom based workshop will guide you through how to prepare for and how to succeed in the D5 module. All wine samples are included in the course fees.

To complete the WSET Level 4 Diploma course requires the successful completion of six modules. Each module contributes to a percentage of the overall course.
Led by acclaimed WSET Diploma educators, Erica Dent DipWSET and Jim Gore DipWSET, Enjoy Discovering Wine are now running a WSET Diploma D5 module refresher workshop for Diploma students. During the three day workshop Jim and Erica will guide you through how to prepare for, and complete, the D5 module.
Class sizes will be kept small to allow time for Erica and Jim to fully engage with each student and offer the support they need to be successful.

How the course is structured
The WSET Level 4 Diploma consists of six essential units of study, each one is designed to build expertise in a specific area. Each unit is weighted and requires various amounts of guided and private study time.
D1 – Wine Production (20% weighting)
D2 – Wine business (10% weighting)
D3 – Wines of the world (50% weighting)
D4 – Sparkling wines (5% weighting)
D5 – Fortified wines (5% weighting)
In each of these Units you will learn:
D6 – Independent research assignment (10% weighting)
How the course is assessed.
To complete the WSET Level 4 Diploma you must pass all six units, successfully meeting the rigorous assessment requirements across the syllabus. Assessment varies by unit:
D1 – Wine production
D2 – Wine business
D3 – Wines of the world
Day one – A two-part theory exam formed of open-response questions to be completed in 3 hours 20 minutes (one 2-hour paper and one 80-minute paper).
Day two – A two-part blind tasting examination of 12 wines to be completed in 3 hours (two papers of 1½ hours)
D4 – Sparkling wines
D5 – Fortified wines
D6 – Independent research assignment
